Shaun Rogers!?!?!?!?! TO THE FUCKING BROWNS?!?!?!?!!?

In Phil we Trust.

With the Bengals fucking up yet again, Phil made his best move yet, something that I just found out about walking through my door...I'm absolutely flabbergasted.

First, we get Corey Williams, a versatile mammoth who can play any position on the defensive line. I was thinking, with Shaun and Robaire Smiths, and now Williams, the Browns are going to have a nice little defensive line going...but we still needed depth.

I always thought Rogers was out of our reach, though, in my opinion, he was the best fit for our style of defense. I just thought he'd be priced out of our range or some other team would sign him for ridiculous money, ruining the DL market for every other cap-wise team. But, for Leigh Bodden, a CB who I liked, yet was frequently on the wrong side of a big play, and a draft pick we get a prototypical NT who has made it to the Pro Bowl.

Wow...once is nice, twice is a trend. Last offseason, Phil took care of the Offensive Line, and exactly one year later, he completely turns around the Defensive Line with an absolute flourish. Weakness turns to strength, in return for a WAY overvalued position, that frankly, Bodden was the odd man out.

Brandon McDonald and Eric Wright are cheaper, younger, faster, higher ceiling CB's who will no doubt flourish when you have a front 7 as strong as ours is now. No longer are teams going to gash and slice through our defense because their QB has hours to throw and their RB's are benefiting from having our old D-line being pushed back 5 yards and getting hats directly on our LB's. Wimbley is going to be a force as will Peek. Leon Williams is going to become a household name and D'Qwell could very well lead the league in sacks.

Lets face it, next year the Browns have a BRUTAL schedule, chock full of Cowboys, Super Bowl Champs and 6'5'' 230 lb. laser-rocket armed QB's. To expect 10-6 again when we're not a surprise and we're facing the cream rather than the swill would be foolish. Now? Not only do I expect 10-6, I expect a first round bye and the COMPLETE AND UTTER ANNIHILATION of the Steelers, Bengals and Ravens.

Congrats Phil...you've started something incredible here. I'm carving out a new face on my personal Mount Rushmore. You're right there with Tressel, LeBron and Joe Thomas.

Now see if you can trade DA for some draft picks...kthxbai.
